KHARTOUM Miles Killebrew Lions Jersey , Feb. 18 (Xinhua) -- Sudan on Wednesday welcomed a U.S. decision to partially lift the sanctions imposed on Khartoum in the fields of communications as observers regard the move as indicator for a beginning for a breakthrough in Sudan-U.S. tensed ties.


On Tuesday, the United States Department of Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) announced that it had decided to loosen U.S. sanctions on Sudan via allowing exports of personal communications hardware and software including smart phones and laptops.


It said the move aimed at helping the Sudanese citizens integrate in the global digital community.


"The relations between Sudan and America can assume their advanced position if the American administration fulfilled its commitments towards Sudan," Ali Karti, Sudan's foreign minister, told reporters here on Wednesday.


"Washington has always failed to fulfil its commitments Anthony Zettel Lions Jersey , but the recent visit of the Sudanese presidential assistant Ibrahim Ghandour to Washington has put the bilateral ties on the right track," he added.

He further expressed hope that the ongoing dialogue between the two sides would come up with positive results.


The Sudanese-American relations are currently witnessing signs of breakthrough as the two sides started exchanging visits by senior officials for dialogue to discuss many issues that prevented full normalization of relations between Khartoum and Washington.


After the two recent visits by the Sudanese foreign minister and the Sudanese presidential assiatant to Washington, it has been reported that U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights and Labour Steven Feldstein would visit Sudan next week at the invitation of the Sudanese Foreign Ministry.
