The Panthers still say they have confidence in kicker Graham Gano. They’re looking at their options in case they change their mind.According to Adam Caplan of SiriusXM NFL Radio http://www.panthersfootballauthentic.com/graham-gano-jersey-authentic , the Panthers worked out four kickers Tuesday, bringing聽Chandler Catanzaro, Sam Ficken, Matt McCrane, and Caleb Sturgis in for a look.Gano missed a go-ahead 52-yarder against the Seahawks last week, and plunked a field goal off the uprights and missed an extra point the previous week at Detroit. The Panthers lost both games (they can’t blame getting blown out at Pittsburgh on him).A few things complicate any kicker change. They signed him to a four-year, $17 million deal this offseason www.carolinapanthersteamonline.com , which would create dead money and sunk cost. He’s also been pretty good at his job. Sunday’s miss snapped a streak of 41 straight field goals made at home, and he’s 13-of-15 overall this season and was 29-of-30 last year (though he missed three extra points in 2017).They might have just wanted to motivate him, as they did last year when they brought Roberto Aguayo in to their practice squad. So far, they haven’t signed anyone, so it may just be a matter of sending a message.Panthers 2018 season opener countdown: 49 days to go With 49 days to go in the offseason, we look at Panthers #49, linebacker Richie Brown. Richie Brown Carolina Panthers T-Shirt , LinebackerBioHeight: 6’2”Weight: 235 lbsAge: 24College: Mississippi StateNFL Experience: 1 yearBrown started at middle linebacker in each of his past two seasons after the departure of eventual second round pick Benardrick McKinney and led the team in tackles both seasons. He went undrafted in the 2017 draft but found a spot on the Buccaneers’ offseason roster as an undrafted free agent. He was unable to survive the final roster cut and was released on September 2nd. After 3 months of football unemployment, the Panthers signed Brown to the practice squad, where he remained through the end of the season.Brown’s most likely chance to hold on with the Panthers is probably another year on the practice squad. Luke Kuechly, Thomas Davis, and Shaq Thompson are locks while the team will probably look for any reason to keep their two drafted rookies on the active roster.
