Jackson then got pinch hitter Dominic Smith to fly out to right for the second out of the inning but then surrendered a two-out single to Keon Broxton that scored McNeil to make it 6-3. After a visit by pitching coach Rick Kranitz, Jackson came back and struck out Brandon Nimmo to escape the jam.
