However, just like the first two players that jumped in, fans of the Minnesota Vikings probably shouldn’t anticipate the purple using a pick on him.The latest entrant into the Supplemental Draft is Washington State safety Jalen Thompson, who declared his intentions on Saturday. Earlier, the NCAA had ruled that Thompson would have to forfeit his final year of eligibility because of the purchase of an over-the-counter supplement that was not a steroid, per reports from ESPN.Thompson was an all-Pac 12 second-team performer in 2017, and received an Honorable Mention in 2018. The 6’, 190-pound Thompson had six interceptions over his career with Washington State, and there were reportedly some that thought he could have turned pro after this past season Kyle Rudolph Jersey , but he elected to return to Pullman for his final year. He was also a teammate of current Vikings’ linebacker defensive end defensive tackle Hercules Mata’afa, so he’s got a connection to the Vikings already. While Thompson has a much better chance of being drafted in the Supplemental Draft than either Syracuse linebacker Shyheim Cullen or West Virginia receiver Marcus Simms, I wouldn’t expect the Vikings to be the team that uses a selection on him. If there’s one position that the Vikings don’t need a whole lot of help at with their current roster, it’s the safety position, and burning a pick on Thompson at this point would just add to the logjam. The NFL’s Supplemental Draft will take place on 10 July, which is a week from Wednesday. What You Missed: Week 1 Welcome to What You Missed, where each week I’ll wrap up all the news around the NFL that will affect the Vikings. And for a contending team, that’s usually a lot.***First off, before getting into any specific game action, let’s talk about the new tackling rule. Specifically, the amount of roughing the passer penalties that we had in Week 1. According to NFL Penalty Tracker, there were 15 roughing the passer penalties this week Irv Smith Minnesota Vikings Jerseys , which is the most in a single week since they started tracking penalties in 2009. And people have already started to raise concerns.Elsewhere, the Browns and Steelers played to a tie (?) and Le’Veon Bell still hasn’t reported. The Ravens beat the Bills 47-3. The Dolphins and the Titans played the longest game in NFL history. In the North...It was quite a week. I’m sure most of us tuned in to Sunday Night Football to see the Packers host the Bears, and...wow. A couple takeaways from that one: Khalil Mack is going to be a problem in the NFC North for a very, very long time.Aaron Rodgers can do some things. That fourth quarter was just something else.I don’t know if the Bears can come back from a loss like that. But Matt Nagy has a lot of weapons on offense, and the Bears look like they could make some noise in the division. We don’t know if Rodgers will play against the Vikings on Sunday. In other news, the Lions got absolutely destroyed by the Jets. Yes, the Jets. Even with a pick-six on the first play of the game, they couldn’t hang with a rookie quarterback making his first career start. Their defense looked awful, and the Jets could pretty much do anything they wanted in all three phases. It’s only been a game and we shouldn’t overreact, but the Lions looked as bad as any team in the NFL besides the Bills.Ex-Vikings quarterback reportWhat a debut for Case Keenum! Seattle might be primed for a down year, but Keenum helped lead the Broncos to a 27-24 win over Russell Wilson and the Seahawks to start off his Denver career with a win. Keenum threw for 329 yards and three touchdowns, although he did toss three interceptions as well. His TD throw to Demaryius Thomas Minnesota Vikings Jerseys 2019 , which proved to be the game-winner, was placed perfectly around a Seahawks defender. I’m wishing Keenum all the best, so it’s nice to see him get off to a good start while also taking down an NFC team.Meanwhile, Sam Bradford didn’t fare so well. The former Vikings QB threw for 153 yards with an interception and no touchdowns as Arizona lost 24-6 to Washington. Josh Rosen will continue to loom behind Bradford if he can’t win some games. And also in this one...Adrian Peterson, who used to do some things for the Vikings, ran for 96 yards and a touchdown on 26 carries. Contender alert!Despite a 18-12 win over the Falcons, the Eagles did not look good in the season opener on Thursday night. Nick Foles looked like the old Nick Foles, and they clearly miss Alshon Jeffrey. It’s also important to remember they lost both their Offensive Coordinator and their QB coach (the latter, John DeFilippo, is now the Vikings OC), so their offense could very realistically take a step back. On the other side of this game, the Falcons have a lot of problems. Offensively Irv Smith Jersey Cheap , Matt Ryan just doesn’t look like the guy who won NFL MVP in 2016. Defensively, the Falcons were already in trouble, and then they lost Keanu Neal for the season with a torn ACL.The Rams won their opener after a rocky start against the Jon Gruden-led Raiders, and the Saints were very surprisingly outgunned by Ryan Fitzpatrick and the Bucs in a shootout. As is usually the case, New Orleans needs to figure out some things on defense. Especially, you know, at safety. When there’s 10 seconds left. Alright, that’s it for What You Missed’s inaugural edition. Let me know if there’s other stuff you want to see here, and we’ll be back next week!
