to slow down his racing mind and speed up his transition from spread college quarterback to drop-back pro passer.Lock http://www.thechargerslockerroom.com/authentic-mike-pouncey-jersey , expected to get his first start for the Broncos (3-8) this weekend, now sees that jamming his right thumb in a preseason game against the 49ers might not have been the misfortune he first thought."I like to think that everything happens for a reason," Lock said. "At the beginning of that I was very lost, didn't know why this was happening. I was super excited to get into the NFL. Then to have that injury happen, it was pretty upsetting."He turned the setback into a chance to step back."I got to be on my own, learning the way I knew I had time to learn. I wasn't worried about getting on the field playing. I could kind of focus on what it is I felt like I need to be better at,” Lock said. “And it's time to find out what it's going to do for me."Lock, who returned to practice Nov. 12, began taking most of the snaps with the starters this week."He did fine," coach Vic Fangio said Thursday. "I think he felt comfortable Womens Isaac Rochell Jersey , more and more comfortable as practice went on. He did fine."Fangio demurred when asked if he’s decided that Lock will start against the Chargers (4-7) on Sunday."I said at the end of the week at the earliest," Fangio replied. "We don't know yet."He added that he's had discussions with his coaching staff "but nothing's been finalized."Offensive coordinator Rich Scangarello said Lock is showing he made the most of his time on IR."I just feel like the time off he did a nice job of preparing himself mentally in every way he could," Scangarello said. "You can't trade that for the actual reps on the field, but he definitely grew as a person and he learned a lot from the guys in the (quarterbacks) room. They were very helpful and collaborative and Joe taught him a lot. I think he gained confidence from that and I like where he is mentally and just how he's progressed. He's done a nice job."Lock took only a handful of snaps with the starters and split the work on the scout team with Brett Rypien the past two weeks."Just how much I know the game plan," is what Lock aims to show his coaches this week. "It was different when I was running scout team and they were running plays off the card ... Now, it's how well can you execute the game plan? How well do you know it? And can you go out there and run it clean with the offense?”Notes: Fangio said ILB Alexander Johnson's "availability for this week is up in the air" because of a knee injury he sustained at Buffalo last week. With Josey Jewell (ankle) also hobbled, Joe Jones and Josh Watson would step in against the Chargers. ... Fangio said OLB Von Miller (knee) will play Sunday "if he's healthy enough to play and he feels good about it." He said there was no way he'd consider shutting down Miller for the rest of the season as a precaution, however.Follow Arnie Melendrez Stapleton on Twitter: http://twitter.com/arniestapleton COSTA MESA, Calif. (AP) — Joey Bosa is hoping to return to form with the Los Angeles Chargers wearing a new, yet familiar Michael Badgley Jersey , number. The defensive end has switched from No. 99 to 97. Bosa wore that number at St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and Ohio State. It is also a significant number for the Bosa family. John Bosa wore No. 97 for three seasons in the NFL and Nick Bosa, Joey’s younger brother, will wear it for San Francisco after being the second overall pick in the April draft.“I’ve been just meaning to do that for a while now. It’s just a cool tradition. I’d like to keep it going,” he said.Bosa said he wanted to change numbers last year . until the NFL informed him that it would cost $500,000 due to a large inventory of his jerseys in stock. With the Chargers making the change to their powder blue jerseys as their primary home uniform, it means Bosa doesn’t have to pay anything. He is also hoping the new number helps bring about better health. Bosa missed the first nine games of last season due to a bruised left foot injury he suffered at the start of training camp. He still managed 5.5 sacks in seven regular-season games despite still dealing with pain from the injury.Bosa said he was happy to avoid a Lisfranc-type surgery. He is still dealing with some soreness but that hasn’t limited him physically.“It’s not causing a limp or anything. It’s just there. It’s just something I notice,” he said. “It’s been getting better all offseason, so I could definitely see by camp or maybe even next year where it kind of starts fading away. Once you get into season http://www.thechargerslockerroom.com/authentic-melvin-gordon-jersey , it gets pretty intense, so we’ll see.”Bosa missed the first four weeks of the Chargers offseason program while he was training in Florida but returned to the team facility this week for the start of organized team activities. Teams can have 10 practices of limited on-field work before the mandatory minicamp in three weeks.“It’s a good time to knock the rust off and get practicing with your hands and pass-rush,” Bosa said. “If you miss all of this and you show up in camp, you’re rusty then. You want to be rolling by that point.”The Chargers and Bosa are hoping he can return to the level he played his first two years, when he had 23 sacks, including an NFL-record 19 in his first 20 games. Bosa led the Chargers in 2017 in tackles (54) and sacks (12.5) en route to making the Pro Bowl for the first time.Los Angeles was ninth in the league in total defense, but 22nd in sacks per pass play. Defensive coordinator Gus Bradley could see those numbers increase with a healthy Bosa.“You can count on Joey. He’s going to come back in great shape. He looks awesome. He feels really good. To get him back on the field — just that brotherhood part where the guys are together again. I think that’s important,” Bradley said.
