The Zenith Defy Extreme Chroma, also known as the Zenith DEFY Extreme Chroma Limited Edition watch, is one of two limited-edition timepieces launched by the brand in December 2025. It continues the color creativity of the previous Chroma series while incorporating the powerful performance of the DEFY Extreme series. Key highlights include:
Appearance: Material Contrast + Rainbow Gradient Aesthetics
Case: Both models feature a 45mm diameter titanium case, 15.4mm thick, and a lug spacing of 51mm. One uses micro-blasted titanium with a black ceramic bezel, pusher protection, and crown; the other uses brushed and polished titanium with white ceramic components. The crown features the brand's star logo, a textured surface with anti-slip grooves, and an embedded black rubber ring for easy adjustment and improved sealing.
Dial: The openworked sapphire crystal dial showcases the movement and adds a three-dimensional feel to the dial. The rhodium-plated applied markers on the dial are covered with an iridescent lacquer, creating a seamless gradient with the movement's hue. This gradient is also continued on the tips of the sub-dial hands at 3, 6, and 9 o'clock. The chronograph power reserve indicator at 12 o'clock, along with the sub-dials and gradient design, makes the dial both aesthetically pleasing and easy to read.
Movement: High-Frequency Double Escapement, Combining Precision and Aesthetics
The watch is powered by a custom-designed El Primero 9004 automatic movement. This TIMELAB chronometer-certified movement's core advantage is its dual independent escapement system: one oscillates at 5 Hz (36,000 vibrations per hour) for daily timekeeping, while the other oscillates at 50 Hz (360,000 vibrations per hour) to drive the chronograph function, achieving 1/100th of a second timing. The central chronograph seconds hand completes one full revolution of the dial every second. Meanwhile, the movement bridges feature a multi-colored PVD coating, creating a "mechanical rainbow" effect. The star-shaped rotor on the back also has exclusive color options: a bright blue rotor for the black version and an electric green rotor for the white version. When fully wound, it provides a 50-hour power reserve.
Configuration: Versatile and Easy to Switch Between Scenarios
This series of watches is water-resistant to 20 ATM, capable of handling demanding scenarios such as diving, meeting various outdoor and everyday needs. Each model comes with three quick-change straps: a rubber strap matching the case color, a titanium bracelet, and a black Velcro strap. Thanks to the quick-release system on the case back, switching between straps is easy without tools, adapting to different occasions such as casual and sporty settings.
The two watch reference numbers are 97.9113.9004/33.I200 (black version) and 95.9114.9004/69.I203 (white version).
